The ultimate indulgence, a private romantic afternoon tea/luncheon for 2 in the Kings Chamber.
Create precious, unforgettable memories—perfect for the hopeless romantic. Steeped in centuries of tradition, the ritual of afternoon tea traces its origins to Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford. It is a time to slow down, to share, to celebrate, to indulge, and to reconnect. At Thorngrove Manor, this intimate experience is hosted with personalised care by the artist and creator of the Manor.
The ultimate luxurious afternoon tea/luncheon for two features a curated selection of the finest traditional loose-leaf teas, single-origin coffees, delicate herbal infusions, and Altina La Vie en Rose.
Hot savoury and dessert courses are served sequentially, allowing each moment to be savoured.
Tiered plates arrive brimming with finely cut and rolled cucumber and dill, watercress and salmon, and chicken Waldorf sandwiches; the tiniest handmade savoury butter pastries and exquisite hot and cold delicacies including miso chicken and South Australian king prawns. These are followed by delicate bite-size pastries and melt-in-the-mouth petit fours—mille-feuille, madeleines, signature fresh-cream cakes, and light, fluffy scones served with organic, small-batch, house-made local fruit preserves.
Lose yourself in the fairytale.
Dine amidst the whimsy of Wedgwood Mythical Beasts or the romantic, country-inspired Portmeirion Botanic Garden china, complemented by antique 18th- and 19th-century hallmarked sterling silver and the finest Sferra Italian linen.
